Templates
Templates are foundational for managing information in the Efecte Service Management Tool (ESM) and represent the highest level of the data model. These modifiable entities dictate the structure and content of data cards, which are specific instances of data stored within ESM.

Picture 1: Template Navigation Tree
Templates are organized in the template navigation tree, grouped by the module they are associated with, as shown in Picture 1.
Templates are composed of classes, which serve to categorize attributes within them. Positioned at an intermediate level of the data model, classes enable the grouping of commonly used sets of information under a single class. This class can then be utilized across multiple templates.
Attributes, the most granular elements of the data model, make up classes. They label the fields on data cards and set the guidelines and characteristics for how information is displayed. Attributes form the foundation of data within ESM.
The structure of the template tree, as depicted in Picture 2 with the CMDB template tree, illustrates the connections among templates, classes, and attributes. In this example, "SIM" is a template name, with "SIM information" and "General information" as class names. Attributes within the "SIM information" class include "Phone number," "Operator," "SIM serial," and "Related mobile device," while the "General information" class contains attributes like "Efecte ID," "Created," "Updated," "Creator," and "Latest update by."

Picture 2: CMDB Template Tree Structure
For end-users of ESM, templates manifest as the foundation of data cards. Taking the "SIM" template as an example, it is shown in the CMDB module as a data card named "SIM," with its classes and attributes displayed on the data card. This indicates the actual data that users can input. Picture 3 demonstrates a data card being created using the "SIM" template.

Folders
In the Efecte Service Management Tool (ESM), all stored information is organized into data cards housed within folders. ESM employs a hierarchical folder structure, which users familiar with Microsoft Windows will find intuitive. This structure is fully customizable, allowing you to create, modify, and delete folders to best meet your organization's needs.
Users and Permissions
In ESM, user permissions are allocated based on their assigned roles. Each user is associated with at least one role, which defines their access to information within ESM.
Permissions are categorized into several types: module, administrator, template, attribute, and folder permissions. Module permissions specify which ESM modules a user can access. Users must have available licenses for each module they access upon login. Administrator permissions grant users the authority to carry out tasks necessary for managing ESM.
Template permissions regulate a user's ability to view ESM data cards, meaning a user can only see data cards created from templates they have access to. Attribute permissions determine the fields on a data card that a user can view, allowing access to only certain attributes as permitted.
Folder permissions dictate the parts of the folder structure a user can access, and they partially overlap with template permissions. If a user lacks permission for a folder, they cannot see it or any data cards it contains. However, a user might still have access to the templates of those data cards. With folder permissions, a user can view data cards created from templates they are authorized to access.
