Executive Summary
The Efecte Service Management tool 2023.4 major release continues our dedication to making the life of the service desk agent easier with several improvements enabling high efficiency in their day-to-day work. This release brings major improvements to the new UI as we progress in our journey towards its general release. Now, even more functionalities are supported while working on data cards in the new UI.
Another area of improvement is Effie AI, our AI assistant helping the service desk agents in their work. After introducing Effie AI with our 2023.3 release, the email assistant feature of Effie AI has reached a major milestone. We are now ready to run our own Efecte-hosted language model, Efecte GenAI, serving Effie AI customers to enable using the generative AI features without integrating with external services.
Additionally, we continue to commit to the high quality of the product, and we've dedicated efforts to enhance the overall quality of the product, addressing multiple issues to offer a smoother user experience.

CP-7992: Email with inline image sent from Gmail doesn't get preserved properly in the replies/forwards. Adopted ESM to get inline images to reply supporting how Gmail structures an email and its attachments.
CP-8000: Email sending fails for inline image-related error in reply. Inline images from the original message are now detected in a more sophisticated way to support more mail clients.
CP-8019: Adding an inline image to email may fail. When attaching files to an email, the inline image was mistakenly given the index '0' instead of the intended attachment file. Improved the software's differentiation between inline images and file attachments. Now, when an email contains both inline images and file attachments, the ESM identifies each item, ensuring all file attachments are correctly added to the email.
CP-46710: WebAPI import may not see changes made to the same data card by another concurrent import or create duplicate data cards.
SUMA-46638: A new popup menu has been added to images in Rich Text Editor in the new UI, allowing the user to edit different properties of it, including alt text. |

- Support for reading and sending comments as a conversation on a data card in the new UI using WorklogHandler.
- SUMA-38593 Quickfill in the new data card view
- New UI now supports the quickfill handler, allowing users to fill in multiple fields in one go based on a single selection.
- SUMA-38860 Extended table view of related items in the new UI
- Reference tables are now visible in the new UI. They include sorting, multi-sorting, column resizing that persists over different tabs, lazy loading on scroll, and a couple of new metadata values to modify the columns and the removal of items.

- SUMA-39521 Improved search results on tabs in the new UI
- New UI now supports displaying results from searches across multiple templates on separate tabs for each template.
- SUMA-43521 Dark theme for list view and data card view in the new UI
- This feature can be controlled with platform setting new.ui.themes.enable by an admin. Dark theme is configurable under user profile settings for the new UI. The setting is visible in the new UI only.
- IEI-7028 & IEI-7118 Support for Efecte GenAI in Effie AI Email
- Effie AI Email can now use Efecte GenAI as the language model powering the functionality. This allows the users to use Effie AI without integration with external services. The support also introduces a status light to check whether the Efecte GenAI service can be connected to.
- Note: Efecte GenAI does not yet support multi-language in full. The multi-language is in early-access state and can be turned on for testing purposes with the following platform setting: efecteGenAi.emailReply.improvement.allowLanguageSelection

Bug fixes
- SUMA-29518 Ordering of Kanban palette colors breaks after drag and drop of colors
- CP-6293: System templates cannot be distinguished from normal templates in the template editor
- Protected system templates and templates with template code: ValueChange, approval, workflow-email, WorkflowTaskInformation, and HR_WorkflowTaskInformation now have warning messages on the admin page while editing them.
- CP-6451: MailTo handler gets broken with scandinavian letters with Chrome and Microsoft Edge
- Added a validation for the input type mail to help Chrome and Edge handle addresses correctly.
- CP-7225: Licenses shown as valid after the validity period
- License panel shows correct information, if license is expired.

- Fixed an issue occurring when the forwarding an email that was sent from Outlook with a different mail type than it is set on the ESM mail template (Mail is sent with plain/text type, and the mail template on ESM is set to html/text)

- SUMA-43100 Navigating to the startup view through Logo is not working for the new UI when no startup view is selected. Also, selecting the startup view for the new UI is not working.
- When the startup view was empty/not selected, the logo navigation was not correctly selecting the currently selected view in the navigation panel. Now, it does and also allows you to select a new startup view correctly through profile settings.
- SUMA-43405 Inline image aspect ratio is not respected in the new UI email editor
- SUMA-43414 Text area scaling issue in the email editor of the new UI

- Fixed an issue where the user was not correctly redirected to the requested page in the new UI after logging in.
- SUMA-44270 CP-7852: Reference tooltip doesn't obey platform setting date(time).outputpattern in the new UI
- Tooltip dates are now correctly formatted.
- SUMA-44962 CP-7907: Email sending may fail with error 'Not connected' or 'failed to connect' in the log
- If mails were sent constantly, the connections in the pool where never refreshed and eventually were dropped by the mail server. The fix introduces a new connection expiration rule and mechanism to retry the sending if a broken connection is discovered.
