Efecte Self-service Portal (ESS) 2023.1 Release Notes
Executive Summary
The Efecte Self-Service Portal 2023.1 release further improves the usability and stability of the product. Improvements in the user interface allow more intuitive and non-disruptive work for end users and administrators alike.
A new "Order again" feature for service requests allows users to reorder previously ordered items without the need to fill in all details again. Additionally, language support has been extended to support Bulgarian and Romanian languages.
This version supports the following languages:
Bulgarian, Czech, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, English (GB & US), Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish
This version supports the following browsers:
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox ESR
- Google Chrome 50 or newer
- Safari 10 or newer
The only supported database for this release is PostgreSQL version 15.

This version of Efecte Self-Service requires:
Efecte Identity Management version 2020.3.0 or newer.

ESS-17760 Incorrect wording in Our request settings
- Adjusted “Everyone belong to the site can see” setting label to “Everyone belonging to the site can see.”
ESS-18144 SendingQueue retry messages are duplicated
- Fixed an issue where messages in SendingQueue would duplicate and cause issues with requests being sent to ESM.
ESS-18152 CP-7198: Missing additional information translation causes null pointer exception
Features
ESS-16344 Reordering previous service request
- New feature for allowing previously submitted service requests to be ordered again if there are fields that can be populated based on previous orders. The end-user can still review the content before submitting the order again. This feature needs to be enabled for each support channel where it is needed.
ESS-17611 Bulgarian and Romanian language support
ESS-18200 Connection parameters for chatbot widget
- New setting for Efecte Chat allows chatbot widget source to be set depending on deployment location
Improvements
ESS-16853 Load KB article images only after opening the article
- Articles in Tips & Tricks are now only downloaded after a specific article is expanded. That removes the preview of the content but allows large articles with images to perform better.
ESS-17503 CP-7028: New confirmation message notifications
- New confirmation message notifications are being introduced that do not require any interaction from the user. A new setting allows administrators to define an automatic close time or leave it to be manually closed. Notifications disappear regardless of the setting upon page change within ESS or page refresh.

- Adjust the automatic close time with the new admin setting. Make sure to refresh your page in the end-user UI after any changes.

ESS-17859 Support for External URL parameters
- Additional URL parameters can be sent by ESS to Efecte Chatbots, allowing the chatbot to request data from ESM.
ESS-17960 New labels for default category
- Default service category, which contains all uncategorized service offerings, now shows “Default” text in the category list and additional help text in the UI when selected. This helps admins find the default category with services that have not been set to any other category.
