Connector management 2025.2, Release Notes

Discover new features and enhancements in the 2025.2 release

Connector management is an integral component of Matrix42 Core, Pro, and IGA solutions. Formerly known as the Efecte Provisioning Engine (EPE), this capability offers a range of out-of-the-box Native Connectors and provisioning functionalities designed to streamline the integration of various systems and support automated processes.

These native connectors are designed for quick and straightforward configuration. However, it is essential to review the connector documentation to ensure compatibility with your specific use case before implementation.

Discover the new features, enhancements and bug fixes included in the Matrix42 Connector Management 2025.2 release.

Executive Summary

The 2025.2 release focused on implementing new native connectors and expanding existing native connectors functionalities.

New Generic REST API Connector for Event-Based Tasks from Workflows

We are excited to introduce a new Generic REST API Connector with support for event-based interactions triggered from workflows. This flexible connector allows seamless integration with external systems, enabling real-time data exchange and process automation within Matrix42 Core, Pro, and IGA environments.

The connector currently supports both Basic Authentication and Bearer Token Authentication, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of RESTful APIs.

With this connector, you can implement integrations that create and update data in external systems, enabling the real-time transfer of relevant business, service, or asset information as events occur. This capability supports more responsive, automated, and data-driven processes across your IT landscape.

Restrictions: Generic REST API Connector is currently limited to event-based use cases. It does not yet support scheduled tasks for bulk data imports from external systems into Matrix42 Core, Pro, or IGA. This functionality is planned for future enhancements.

New Google Connector (with Generic REST API Connector)

This integration enables event-based communication from workflows, allowing you to perform actions such as provisioning users and groups into Google Directory in real time.

Restrictions: Google connector (with Generic REST API) doesn't yet support scheduled tasks for importing mass amount of data from Google to M42 Core, Pro and IGA.

Entra ID Connector Renamed to Microsoft Graph API Connector

To better reflect its expanded capabilities and underlying technology, the Entra ID connector has been renamed to the Microsoft Graph API Connector. Starting with the 2025.2 release, this connector enables the development of integrations related to Microsoft Azure and Entra ID by leveraging the wider potential of the Microsoft Graph API.

Integration supports both scheduled based import of data to M42 Core, Pro and IGA and event-based calls from workflow.

Restrictions: Microsoft Graph reporting api is not supported, as it returns data in csv format instead of json: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/reportroot-concept-overview

Microsoft Teams Integration Capabilities with Microsoft Graph API Connector

Microsoft Teams integration capabilities enables enhanced visibility and automation between Microsoft Teams and your Matrix42 Core, Pro, and IGA environments. By leveraging this integration, you can streamline collaboration-related processes, improve data synchronization, and ensure consistent management across systems.

The integration supports both scheduled data imports and event-based operations. You can automate the import of relevant Teams-related data into M42 Core, Pro, and IGA on a scheduled basis. Additionally, real-time actions can be triggered through workflows to support dynamic provisioning, updates, or other integration scenarios.

Microsoft Intune Integration Capabilities with Microsoft Graph API Connector

Microsoft Intune integration capabilities enables enhanced visibility and automation between Microsoft Intune and your Matrix42 Core, Pro, and IGA environments. This integration helps streamline device and software management processes and ensures that device and compliance-related data is synchronized across systems.

The integration supports both scheduled data imports and event-based operations. You can configure automated imports of relevant Intune data into M42 Core, Pro, and IGA on a scheduled basis, while real-time actions can be triggered through workflows to support dynamic scenarios such as locking and wiping devices.

Restrictions: Intune reports API is not supported: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/intune/intune-service/fundamentals/reports-export-graph-available-reports

Event Based Provisioning Capabilities to Generic Python Script Connector

Generic Python script connector was previously known as Custom Backend connector.

Generic Python script connector integration capabilities supports now both scheduled based import of data to M42 Core, Pro and IGA and event-based calls from workflow to target system.
