Automation and provisioning processes
In Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), automation and provisioning refer to processes that streamline the management of user identities, access rights, and permissions within an organization's digital environment. These processes are designed to make identity management more efficient, accurate, and consistent.
Provisioning in IGA refers to the process of creating, modifying, and managing user accounts and their access rights to various systems, applications, and resources. Provisioning can be done manually, but in IGA, automation plays a crucial role in making provisioning more efficient and accurate.
Management of automated rules is one of the key use cases in IGA automation and provisioning. It refers to predefined policies and guidelines that are configured within an IGA system to automate various aspects of identity management. These rules are designed to enforce consistency, compliance, and efficiency in managing user identities, access rights, and permissions across an organization's digital resources. Automated rules help streamline processes and reduce the need for manual intervention.
In order to make automation and provisioning work, IGA needs to be integrated to various target systems, applications, or customer directories within an organization's IT ecosystem. Efecte provides flexible integration options: productized connectors, Efecte Integration as a Service (EIS), customer's own integration platform and different interfaces (Web API, REST API).
Productized connectors refer to pre-built or standardized integration components that facilitate the connection between an IGA system and customer directories, HR systems and others. These connectors are designed to simplify and expedite the process of integrating the IGA solution with different platforms and resources, reducing the time, effort, and complexity involved in identity and access management tasks.
Efecte IGA includes the following automation and provisioning use cases and capabilities, as shown in the figure below: provisioning & de-provisioning towards customer directories such as AD and Azure AD, OpenLDAP, IBM LDAP, etc.; management of data imports; management of automated rules; management of organizational data and ready-made connectors.
