Password Reset Automation via EIM in ESS

Password Reset Automation

With Efecte Identity Management (EIM), Efecte Self-Service enables a fully automated password reset function for Single Sign-On in the Windows domain. While EIM handles user interaction for password resets and AD integration, Efecte Self-Service allows users to input necessary profile information (like mobile phone numbers or secondary email addresses) to facilitate password reset automation.

Password reset can be activated or deactivated in the Admin UI. Navigate to the Integrations tab, select Organization settings, and define the Password delivery method.
Options include:

  • None: No profile information is requested from users in Efecte Self-Service.
  • Secondary email: Users must provide a secondary email when they sign in.
  • Mobile Phone: A mobile phone is used to deliver a one-time password reset verification token.
  • Both: Both mobile phone and secondary email are supported channels for password reset verification.

Enabling Password Reset for a Site

For scenarios using federated access management, users can be directed to a specific site where password reset can be disabled. This is configured in Site settings during site definition.
