Editing Template Properties

To modify the properties of a template, access the Template view via the main menu. Select the relevant module icon in the template tree pane and then choose the template you wish to edit. The Edit template view will be displayed in the workspace, as depicted in the screenshot below:

In this view, you can update the template's basic properties, including the Name, Description, Template Code, Module, and Protection status. Additionally, the Edit template view allows you to define or change the Primary Attribute and Transformations, which are exclusive to this view.

Primary Attribute: This serves as the identifier for data cards, influencing their names and how they are referenced in listings. A primary attribute should be selected with care, as it directly affects how data cards are named based on its value:

For instance, in the screenshot above, the "Full Name" is designated as the primary attribute for the Person template. Data cards under this template are named after the value of the "Full Name" attribute, making it a practical choice for identification and sorting in searches and listings. A primary attribute can only be set after attributes have been added to the template.

To ensure a primary attribute serves its purpose effectively, it should be marked as required during the class properties assignment and be readable by all user roles for reference purposes.
