Executive Summary
The Efecte Self-Service 2 (ESS2) 2024.1 release announces several new features:
- Enhanced user experience with conditional fields which can be configured by administrators, significantly enhancing the user-friendliness of form completion. With the configuration option, administrators now have the flexibility to design forms such that all fields don't activate at once. Instead, these conditional fields will activate in response to the choices end users make during case reporting, making for a more intuitive and streamlined user experience.
- Improved case presentation will be more user-friendly and visually appealing. It will include an overview area for the most important fields and a dedicated area for resolution text.
- Extended multi-mapping capabilities with the portal admin, which will be able to map any form field to any text type of attribute in the target template.
- Filtering reference form fields, which allows the admin to add a filter to the reference attribute that is used as a source of the reference type of form field. Once the filter is configured, the end-user will see only the content that is relevant for them.
- My cases expansion, which shows open and closed cases separately under the My Cases page. The admin will be able to add a second dashboard for closed cases, which will allow end-users to have a more filtered view to browse their created issues.
- ESS2 homepage update to ensure a user-friendly experience for the most used topics. The update includes a new layout for header area links, a horizontally narrower background image, and useful links moved to the left-hand side of the "My cases" section.

As an end user, I can see certain form fields only when they are relevant to me based on my input, in case the admin has configured conditions to them.
ESP-8536 Adding a condition using a string Source
Release note
Admin can determine which form fields or elements will have conditions to end-users, so that they can focus on providing only the necessary information. The admin can add, edit or remove conditions on the form editor. If a condition has become invalid, the admin is informed/warned about that with an icon.
ESP-8550 Adding a condition with Is Equal to operator
Release note
The administrator can configure conditions with 2 new operators: "is equal" to and "is not equal to" where the "is equal to" is the default operator. If either of these operators is selected, admin also has to provide a value for the condition. On the ESS2 form, the conditional field visibility depends to the input value.
ESP-8697 Adding a condition with static string as a Source
Release note
The admin can configure conditions with a source type that is static string or custom value static string. On the ESS2 form, the conditional field is only visible when:
’is equal to’: selected option for the field matches the value selected for the condition.
‘is equal to’ matches when a selection of a multi-select drop-down or checkbox includes the configured value of the condition.
or
‘is not equal to’: selected option for the field does not match the value selected for the condition.
ESP-8712 Adding a condition with reference as a Source

The admin can configure conditions with a new source type reference. When the Source is a reference, the value is selected from a drop-down, when applicable.
ESP-8902 Adding multiple conditions
Release note
Administrators can set multiple conditions for when a field is visible, based on selections in other form field - either so that all of the conditions must be met for it to be visible, or one of the conditions must be met. By default the connector is AND. It can be changed to OR by clicking it. There can be maximum of 10 conditions (condition lines) on a set of conditions.

UI updates to ESS2 homepage
Desktop: Navigation is always visible. If the desktop window is extra narrow (and the navigation tabs would not fit), use burger menu, like on mobile. Reposition Links Widget so it is positioned on the left, and Open Cases widget is on the right.
Mobile: Navigation sits behind a burger menu. If there are approvals, there is an indicator on the burger menu button
Common: Home will always be present. Navigates the user to the homepage. My Cases will always be present. Navigates the user to My Cases page. Approvals is visible if approvals exists for the current user. Catalog will be visible if Enable Catalog setting is True.
ESP-7273 Case overview/status

The feature will enable the admin to set attributes that can give the end-user an overview of their case. In the Self Service the overview is located at the top of a detail view. Admin can add, up to a total of 12 attributes to case overview area.
ESP-8093 Showing resolution on a case

The feature will allow the admin to set an attribute that displays the resolution of the case to the end-user. The resolution is placed on its own section, located at the top of the page - right below overview attributes if they are set.

An admin can configure ESS2 specific EQL filters to any reference attribute of any template and they will be located in the reference attribute's Other metadata -area. EQL filter should be prefixed with "ess2_filter_" to set them apart from ESM EQLs, and admin can type any EQL in the metadata field. The ESS2 EQL impact to all reference Form fields that are using this template attribute as source attribute.
Note: user macros are not yet supported.

In the ESS2, end-users will be able to see an overview of Closed Requests as table on desktop. Closed requests can be accessed via My Cases. Visible table columns are Name, Created, Resolved Date, and Resolution. The tooltip will have a limitation of max 450 characters (if the text does not fit in 450 characters, show 3 ellipses to indicate more content). The closed cases are ordered according to the closed cases dashboard.

Approver, can now see more details what the end user has gave to order before I can make a decision. Under the General settings -page there is a new section called Approval settings, where the admin can add code of the text attribute to option called "Approval details. Attribute type for configurable field shall be text type of attribute and rich text is not supported. Code of the attribute is also expected to be in the Order template, which is defined in the Order settings.
Note, that in case none of the approvals has value in "Details" field, the column shall be hided from approvals view. Note also, that if there is invalid code, the details column is not visible.
